Washtenaw County has a lot of great breweries and brewpubs. Here are some of the best!
Arbor Brewing Co. Brewpub on Washington in Downtown Ann Arbor is possibly the most popular, and possibly rightfully so. The food is excellent, but expensive, and the beer is simple, but varied and tasty. With terrific happy hour specials, this is a must-go if you're in the area and love good, simple food and beer. If you're in the Ypsilanti area, Corner Brewery (ABC's other brewpub) has a more deluxe beer list and a very open atmosphere.
Wolverine State Brewing Company on the West Side is the perfect place to end your long day of work and/or physical activity. The place is all about the most refreshing lagers, and lets you bring your own food in, as they do not serve their own. You would never know that so much could be done with lagers.
Jolly Pumpkin is a deluxe Washtenaw brewery, with high quality food and some of the best, yet expensive, beer in the area. High-rolling beer lovers make the perfect clientele for this company.

Favorite Ann Arbor Restaurants
I don't frequent any particular Ann Arbor restaurants, but I do have a few favorites.
Ashley's has really good food, a terrific beer list, and a decent atmosphere. That's all I normally ask for in a restaurant. Every time I go, I need to make sure I don't spend too much money, because it is easy to over-spend on both food and drinks.
TK Wu is my favorite Chinese restaurant. They offer decently-priced, somewhat authentic (depending on the menu item) cuisine in terrific portions and great sauces. The service is also very nice and it is never too busy.
Chela's on the West Side of the city makes tasty Mexican food - so far my favorite Mexican place in the city. Extra servings of meat are cheap, which is important to me. And they know how to cook their meat, too - perfectly spiced, not dry, but not soggy.
